Biography

April Pellmann-Span is an adjunct associate professor as well as clinical and preceptorship coordinator in the MSOE School of Nursing. Her background includes extensive experience in the following areas: adult and geriatric medical surgical nursing, mental health nursing for adults and adolescents, oncology and hospice, neurological and rehab/orthopedic nursing, day surgery and gero-psychiatry/Alzheimer’s nursing.)

NUR 4030 Practice Synthesis: Preceptorship and Simulations

Role of Co-Course coordinator and assignment of preceptorships. This course prepares the senior nursing student for the role of professional nurse. Through a combination of preceptorship and lab simulations students increase skills in the areas of prioritization, time management and self confidence with individualized feedback on nursing competencies.
